SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Cedarville's late-inning rally fell short in a 7-6 non-conference setback to Slippery Rock at Critchfield Park.
The Yellow Jackets recovered from a 7-2 deficit through five innings to make it interesting.
They scored a run in the sixth inning, two in the eighth, and one in the ninth to cut the difference to one. The game ended with two runners left on base.
Jackson Leaman went 3-for-4 including a solo home run and two runs scored.
Four other players had two hits apiece -
Eli Henderson,
Cooper Martin,
Grant Poindexter, and
Kaden Wilde.
Wilde scored twice and
Micah George drove in two runs.
Cedarville, 15-22 overall, hosts Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend in a four-game G-MAC series.
