WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets won all nine matches finishing with a 7–0 non-conference victory at Otterbein inside the Clements Recreation Center.
Cedarville, 2-4 overall, won all three doubles matches to claim the opening point before taking each of the six singles courts.
Roberto Esquivel and
Pedro Nogueira combined for a 7–5 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Roman Issayev and
Logan DeHaven clinched a 6–3 result at the No. 2 spot.
Alexander Rongos and
Ryan Mecurio completed the sweep with a dominant 6–0 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Issayev posted a 6–2, 6–1 decision at No. 2, and Nogueira followed with a 6–0, 6–4 victory at No. 3. Esquivel added a 6–3, 6–2 win at the top flight.
Rongos (6–2, 6–2) and
Xavier Gee (6–3, 6–2) each delivered straight-set wins, while
Barry King pulled out a 10–6 super-tiebreaker at No. 5 after splitting sets.
The Cardinals were competing in their first match of the season.
