CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville claimed a 3-1 victory over Charleston on Saturday evening at the Callan Athletic Center.

The Lady Jackets, 10-2 overall, won by set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23 to extend their winning streak to seven in a row.

Cedarville controlled the opening frame and battled through two tight sets to secure the home win. Charleston avoided the sweep by taking the third, but the Lady Jackets closed the match with a strong finish.

Madelyn Hensley powered the offense with 14 kills and 12 digs. Allie Pilat chipped in 12 kills, while Janae Heegaard added six kills and seven blocks. Defensively, Haley Koch stood tall with nine blocks, while libero Alivia Rutt tallied 12 digs.

As a team, Cedarville registered 42 kills, 58 digs, and an impressive 18 total blocks. The Lady Jackets limited Charleston to a .000 hitting percentage for the night.

Quotable: Head Coach Greg Smith
"It was a really good win! We knew it was going to be a battle going into the match. Charleston is probably the toughest serving team that we faced all year so far. We have to do a better job handling the serving pressure, but overall, I was pleased with the win.

"I'm very happy with how we handled that set four and righted the ship. It was a very good ending to how we played. So happy with the day, happy with the week, and now we can get ready for conference matches next week!"

Five Facts:
  • Cedarville is 8-0 in the all-time series vs. Charleston.
  • The Lady Jackets posted a season-high 18 total blocks.
  • Hensley recorded her first double-double of the season (14 kills, 12 digs).
  • Cedarville hit .321 in the opening set to set the tone.
