CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets picked up their first win of the season with a 5–2 non-conference victory over West Virginia State
Cedarville, 1-1, overcame the loss of the doubles point at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex by storming back to capture five of the six singles courts.
Diana Ivanikhina set the tone with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles.
Delia Guzic staged a remarkable comeback after dropping the first set 0–6 to prevail in a decisive super tiebreak at No. 2.
Mariana Philipps also delivered in three sets at the No. 4 position, while
Susu Prince and
Faith Monson closed out victories at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.
The Jackets' lone doubles win came from the pairing of Ivanikhina and
Paula Curci Micieli at No. 2.
