CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Madelyn Hensley slammed 23 kills to lead Cedarville to a sweep of Ashland, handing the Eagles their first G-MAC loss of the season at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets dominated 25-19, 25-21, 25-15 to improve to 9-8 overall and 7-2 in the conference.
Hensley hit .422 with only four errors in 45 attempts.
Sienna Hanson contributed 10 kills while hitting .429, and
Allie Pilat added seven kills.
Sidney Shepherd directed the offense with 46 assists as Cedarville posted a .310 team attack percentage and a 51-31 advantage in kills.
The Lady Jackets pulled away late in the opening set, with Hanson delivering kills on the final two points.
Cedarville maintained its offensive rhythm in the second set, totaling 19 kills with just three errors for a .410 attack percentage. Pilat finished the set with a kill to put the hosts ahead 2-0.
The Lady Jackets closed out the sweep by hitting .306 in the third set and winning six of the final seven points.
Alivia Rutt paced the defense with 15 digs,
Meagan Johnson added 12, and
Bekah Williams chipped in eight.
Cedarville limited Ashland to a .150 attack percentage and did not surrender a service ace.
The Lady Jackets head to the Midwest Region Crossover on October 16-17 in Hammond, Indiana.
