MIDLAND, Mich. –
Anthony Ruffolo's big game featured 22 points to pace Cedarville to a 73-60 G-MAC victory at Northwood.
The junior guard added nine rebounds, six steals, and three assists to propel the Yellow Jackets to their second impressive win in three days.
Sam Johnson worked inside for 17 points and nine rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, 11-13 overall and 6-10 G-MAC.
Jaylen Davis added 13 points.
The Timberwolves scored the first six points of the game and led 12-4 five minutes in. After that, CU turned things around.
The Jackets led 31-30 at halftime. Even though the contest was tied twice early in the second half the visitors never trailed.
It was an eight-point difference with just under three minutes remaining. Ruffolo's three-point play made it 67-56 at the 2:18 mark and Davis tacked on two free throws 30 seconds later for a 13-point lead.
Quotable: Head Coach Rob Jones
"To win on the road against a good team, you have to defend and rebound. I thought our guys were locked in on both ends tonight. Northwood is one of the most explosive offensive teams in the league and one of the best rebounding teams, so holding them to 60 points and just five second-chance points says a lot about our effort and discipline.
"We didn't shoot it great, but we stayed composed, valued the basketball, and made critical plays down the stretch. I'm really proud of how we approached the game and stayed together for 40 minutes."
