FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Cedarville went the distance to earn a 4-3 victory over Goshen at the Wildwood Racquet Club.
The Lady Jackets, who leveled their record at 5-5, secured the doubles point and captured three singles wins to prevail in the closely contested indoor match.
CU took two of three doubles matches to open the afternoon. No. 1
Diana Ivanikhina and
Delia Guzic posted a 6-4 win at No. 1 while No 3
Mariana Philipps and
Susu Prince earned a 6-3 decision to clinch the point.
In singles action, the Jackets won three matches that were decided by third-set match tiebreaks.
- Ivanikhina rallied at No. 1 for a 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-6) triumph.
- No. 3 Philipps responded after dropping the first set to claim a 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (11-9) victory.
- Prince also bounced back from a first-set loss to secure a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) win at No. 6.
