CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville opened G-MAC play with its first victory of the season, shutting out Ohio Dominican, 2-0, on Thursday night at Yellow Jacket Field.

Asa Haley buried the rebound for his and the team's first goal of the season.
Cedarville controlled the opening half by dominating possession, resulting in a 6-2 shots advantage and three corner kicks. The defense kept the Panthers from generating much of a threat with just one shot on goal in the entire match.
Landon Nates provided the insurance in the 72nd minute. He intercepted a clearance and finished from 15 yards into the lower right side for his first goal. As ODU pushed to get back into the match CU had additional chances on net, finishing overall with a 5-1 shots on goal difference.
Eben Dewhurst had a relatively quiet night, as he was called upon to make just one save for the clean sheet.
The Yellow Jackets improve to 1-3-1 overall and 1-0-0 in G-MAC play. Their next contest will be Saturday at home against Ashland.
