FAIRBORN, Ohio – Three different Yellow Jackets found the net as Cedarville posted a 3-0 G-MAC victory over Northwood on Thursday at Alumni Field.
Cedarville controlled the opening half with a 9-0 advantage in shots and broke through in the 33rd minute. After a scramble for the ball in the box
Chris Guyot split two defenders before finishing far post for his first goal of the season.
The Yellow Jackets doubled the advantage in the 60th minute off as
Asa Haley delivered a cross to
Bryan Cortina, who finished from 12 yards out for his first goal of the campaign.
Parker Burke completed the scoring less than nine minutes later.
Yonis Velasquez-Quezada and
Alex Free combined to create the chance with redirection passing before Burke headed home the cross for his first goal of the season.
Cedarville finished with a 15-7 advantage in shots and put seven attempts on goal. Cortina led the attack with four shots, including three on target.
Eben Dewhurst made one save to record the clean sheet as the Yellow Jackets held Northwood without a shot in the opening 45 minutes.
The Yellow Jackets are 3-5-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the G-MAC. Their next match is Saturday at Ashland.
