CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Lady Jackets claimed the opening set before the Greyhounds rallied to claim a 21-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-16 non-conference victory on Wednesday at the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville opened the night with their best offensive set, putting down 15 kills and hitting .178 to take a 25-21 decision.
UIndy answered in the second before the two sides battled through a tight third frame. CU came up just short, 25-23, and the Greyhounds carried the momentum into the fourth to close out the match.
Allie Pilat paced the Lady Jackets with 17 kills and just three errors in 35 attempts for a .400 hitting percentage.
Madelyn Hensley followed with nine kills.
Sidney Shepherd handed out 36 assists and added 12 digs while
Alivia Rutt led Cedarville with 14 digs. The Lady Jackets were active at the net with 13 team blocks, including six involving Shepherd and five each from
Carley Craighead and
Sienna Hanson.
Cedarville finished with 44 kills, 60 digs, four service aces, and 13 team blocks.
The Lady Jackets are 6-8 overall and 4-2 in the G-MAC. Their next match is Saturday against Thomas More.
