Brandon Young is a three-year starter coming off his best season as a Yellow Jacket.....has started all 151 games in which he has ever played including 58 last spring in left field.....batted .301 with 13 doubles, two homers, and 31 RBI’s.....ranked third on the team with 186 at bats.....registered 11 multi-hit games including four three-hit efforts.....one of only two players to get four hits in a game going 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI’s in an 11-5 AMC victory at Walsh.....batted .444 in four games at the NCCAA National Tournament.....had a three-run double in a 5-2 win over Geneva in an NCCAA elimination game.....tallied at least two RBI’s in eight games total.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar Athlete.
2008 - Played in 55 of the 56 contests with a .256 batting average.....all 55 starts were in left field.....rated third on the club with 14 doubles.....nine-game hitting streak was the second-highest on the team.....produced 11 multi-hit games.....registered three hits in a game versus Urbana.....had a career-high four RBI’s in a 10-5 victory over Robert Morris (Ill.).
2007 - Experienced a productive freshman season at CU.....started all 38 games in which he played in the outfield with 32 of those in left field.....rated third on the club with a .272 batting average.....second on the team with eight multi-hit games.....registered a seven-game hitting streak.....had two hits and two RBI’s in the same contest three times.
High School - Produced a successful career at Blackhawk Christian High School.....member of back-to-back Indiana Class A state championship squads in 2005 and 2006.....batted .432 as a senior with three home runs, 19 runs batted in, and 36 runs scored.....hit .453 during junior season with four homers, 24 RBI’s, and 40 runs.....National Honor Society student.
