Andrew York returns for his third and final season as a Yellow Jacket.....serves as one of three team captains.....converted to play the infield and made 32 starts at third base and appeared in 39 games total.....ranked second on the team in hitting with a .366 batting average.....stroked 34 hits in 93 at bats after having not even made a plate appearance his first year at CU.....produced 10 doubles, one triple, one homer, 15 RBI’s, and a .527 slugging percentage.....stole 9-of-11 bases.....had nine multi-hit games including a 4-for-4 performance with a double, three RBI’s, and three runs scored in a 13-2 romp over Davenport.....made five appearances on the mound with three starts.....winning pitcher in a 19-0 win over Ohio Christian.....finished 1-0 with a 7.02 ERA.....struck out 14 batters in 16 2/3 innings.....American Mideast Conference honorable mention.
2009 - Used as both a starting pitcher and reliever in his first season as a Yellow Jacket.....made 13 appearances with seven starts and two complete games.....recorded his first collegiate victory in a 10-0 decision against Ohio Christian allowing just two hits with five strikeouts in five innings.....matched his season-high of five K’s at Ohio Northern.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
2008 - Transfer from Patrick Henry Community College where he played one season of baseball.....initially attended NCAA Division I Liberty University to play basketball.
High School - Four-year baseball letter winner at Central Aroostook High School.....four-time all-county selection.....pitched in state championship game as a freshman.....member of 2003 Eastern Maine championship squad.....batted .427 as a senior and posted a 0.42 ERA in 33 2/3 innings pitched with 55 strikeouts.....accomplished basketball player and was a four-year letter winner.....graduated as school’s all-time scoring leader with 1,491 career points.....guided program to state championship titles as a junior and senior.....named to the all-state team on the hardwood.....two-time all-county choice.....played in the Maine McDonald’s All-Star Game and was named to the McDonald’s All-State Academic Team.
