Biography

Drew Johnson returns to third base as one of the Yellow Jackets’ top players.....NCCAA All-America First Team as a sophomore.....NCCAA Midwest Region Player of the Year.....voted to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II Midwest Region Second Team and the Daktronics Division II Midwest Region Second Team.....G-MAC Second Team behind the Conference Player of the Year, who also played third base.....started all 47 games at third and hit third in the line-up every time.....led the club in batting average (.389), at bats (198), hits (77), runs (42), doubles (15), triples (8), RBI’s (41), and slugging percentage (.621).....recorded 26 multi-hit games and nine contests of at least two RBI’s.....went 5-for-5 with a walk, double, and two RBI’s in a 10-5 win vs. Kentucky Wesleyan.....cracked a pair of three-run homers for a career-high six RBI’s in a 12-10 result over KWC.....stroked four hits during a 10-9 victory against Saginaw Valley State.....tallied six three-hit games.....hit safely in 40 of 47 games with a season-high 16-game hitting streak.....batted a team-best .393 with runners in scoring position.

2014 - Produced a phenomenal rookie season with the Yellow Jackets.....NCCAA All-America First Team selection.....named to the NCCAA National All-Tournament Team.....G-MAC Freshman of the Year and voted to the G-MAC First Team.....started all 58 games with 56 of those coming at third base.....ranked second on the club with a .362 batting average.....led the team with 19 doubles, 8 triples, 6 homers, 60 RBI’s, and a .614 slugging percentage.....went 8-for-14 with the bases loaded.....batted an incredible .818 (18-for-22) with a runner at third and less than two out.....finished the season with a 24-game hitting streak and a string of having reached base in 52 consecutive contests.....produced 17 multi-hit games including a pair of four-hit efforts.....opened the G-MAC Tournament by going 4-for-5 in an 11-0 win vs. Davis & Elkins with a double, homer, three RBI’s, and three runs scored.....two days later was 4-for-5 with a double, triple, and four RBI’s in a 12-4 win over Ohio Valley.....totaled 19 games in which he drove in at least two runs.....opened the NCCAA National Tournament with two hits including a homer and a season-high five RBI’s in an 11-7 victory against Trevecca.

High School - Played four seasons of baseball and earned two letters at Mason High School.....helped Comets to the #1 ranking in Ohio Division I.....team finished 26-1 and became the first Greater Miami Conference squad to go 18-0 in league play.....only loss occurred in the region semifinals.....All-Ohio Division I honorable mention.....earned all-city and all-conference honors.....batted .410 as a senior and led the GMC with 7 homers and 31 RBI’s.

Personal - Dean’s Honor List student as a business management major at Cedarville University.....born 4/27/95 in Cincinnati, OH.....son of Dan and Jeanne Johnson.....has one older brother.
