Biography

Nate Davenport returns to close out what has already been a record-setting career at Cedarville University.....NCCAA All-America First Team choice as a junior.....voted the NCCAA Midwest Region Player of the Year and American Mideast Conference Player of the Year.....All-AMC First Team pick at first base.....started all 53 games and batted a team-leading .361 producing 11 home runs with a school-record 61 RBI’s.....set other single-season CU marks in at bats (200), doubles (25), and total bases (132).....tied for the team lead with 18 multi-hit games.....paced the squad with 14 multi-RBI contests.....went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI’s in an 8-4 win at Bethel to clinch the NCCAA Midwest Region banner.....pounded a grand slam and drove in five runs in a 10-4 victory at Walsh.....racked up three doubles and a homer with four RBI’s during a 13-5 romp over Notre Dame (Ohio).....has started all 167 games during his career with a .311 batting average.....enters senior campaign holding Yellow Jacket all-time records for home runs (29), RBI’s (144), and total bases (325).....ranks second in doubles (44), hits (182), and at bats (586).

2010 - Started all 55 games as a sophomore with 46 at first base and nine as the DH.....slugged a school-record 12 home runs breaking the old mark of 11 which had stood for 26 years.....drove in 49 runs while carrying a .300 batting average.....set single-season school records for most at bats (200) and most total bases (110).....also led the club in hits (60), slugging percentage (.550), multi-hit games (17), and multi-RBI games (14).....added 10 doubles and two triples.....earned a spot on the All-NCCAA Midwest Region Team.....registered three hits in a game six times and tallied at least three RBI’s seven times.....two-out solo homer in the bottom of the 9th inning beat John Carroll, 10-9, in Florida.....went 3-for-5 with three RBI’s including a two-out RBI single in CU’s last at bat for an 11-10 decision over Walsh.....drove in a season-high four runs against Point Park.....AMC honorable mention.

2009 - Started all 59 games in which he played as a freshman with 58 coming at first base.....batted .271 with a team-high six home runs and 34 RBI’s.....192 at bats ranked second on the squad.....stroked nine doubles and two triples leading to a .432 slugging percentage.....posted 12 games of two or more hits to go along with eight multi-RBI outings.....registered 413 put outs in the field to break the previous school record by 112.....set another school single-season mark for most chances with 445.

High School - Four-year letter winner in baseball at Rock Hill High School in Ohio.....two-time all-conference selection.....batted .330 as a senior with six homers and a .995 fielding percentage.....two-time all-state basketball player.....four-year letter winner on the hardwood and a three-time all-conference choice.....played in the District 13 all-star game.....four-year letter winner in golf and earned all-conference honors as a senior.
