Jason Beschta is in his third season as an assistant coach on the Cedarville University men’s basketball staff. He assists in all phases of the program and on court coaching.
Beschta’s primary responsibilities include coordinating recruiting, strength training and conditioning, and individual skill development.
The Bryan College graduate joined the Yellow Jackets in time for the 2008-09 campaign with seven years of collegiate coaching experience. He spent the previous four seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Minnesota-Moorhead where he was involved in all facets of the program including recruiting and scouting.
Beschta served as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division I Baylor University where he earned his master’s degree in sports pedagogy. He started his coaching career with a one-year stint as an assistant at his alma mater in Dayton, Tenn.
Beschta is a 2001 graduate of Bryan with a degree in exercise science. He played four years of basketball for the Lions and was a three-time Team MVP.
A two-time NAIA All-American, Beschta graduated as the school’s second all-time leading scorer with 2,132 points. He played his high school basketball at Worthington Christian High School near Columbus under former Yellow Jacket head coach Ray Slagle.
Jason and his wife, Becca (Prokop), who is a former Lady Jacket softball player, were married on Dec. 14, 2009 and reside in Cedarville.
