Biography
Matt Harner has established himself as one of the top shooters the Yellow Jackets have ever had.....became the 49th player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points and begins the campaign with 1,024.....career .425 shooter outside the three-point line.....started all 35 games as a junior and averaged 13.6 points.....ranked fourth in the American Mideast Conference and 19th nationally with a .418 three-point accuracy.....voted to the All-NCCAA Midwest Region Second Team and All-AMC Second Team.....scored in double figures 25 times.....pumped in a career-high 28 points in a 66-60 win over Huntington.....netted 27 to lead CU over Trevecca Nazarene, 78-73.....tallied a game-high 26 points in an 80-78 decision at Daemen in the AMC Tournament semifinals.....had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Taylor.
2008-09 - Produced a notable sophomore season with the Yellow Jackets.....appeared in all 31 games with 30 starts.....led a balanced offensive attack by averaging a team-high 12.2 points per game.....voted to the All-AMC Second Team and All-NCCAA Midwest Region Second Team.....reached double figures 22 times in scoring which included the last 11 games of the season.....pumped in a season-high 24 points in a win in the regular season finale at Roberts Wesleyan to help CU clinch a share of the AMC title.....tallied 21 points with eight rebounds during a victory at Northwestern Ohio.....produced a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds in a win versus Daemen.
2007-08 - Made an immediate contribution after transferring from Wright State University.....played in 25 games in a reserve role averaging 6.8 points per game.....shot a team-high .452 from outside the three-point line.....42 of his 62 field goals came from beyond the arc.....hit for double figures five times.....netted a season-high 15 points during an 86-74 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene.....scored 14 in a victory against Ohio State-Marion and added 13 in the AMC Tournament title game win at Malone.
High School - Graduated in 2006 as Cedarville High School’s all-time leading scorer with 1,136 career points.....holds the school record for the most three-point field goals made in a career with 140.....averaged 22.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists as a senior while shooting 43 percent outside the arc.....named to the All-Ohio Division IV Second Team.....District IX All-Star and an All-Ohio Heritage Conference performer.....member of two district championship teams and one OHC title squad.....averaged 15.3 points as a junior and 12.2 points during sophomore season.
