Cedarville wins Open; Wiseman, Campbell NAIA qualifiers

Seth Campbell has qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship in the 5K race walk.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - NAIA All-America race walkers Josh Wiseman and Seth Campbell met the automatic qualifying mark in the 5K walk while Justin Hoffman won three events to pace the Yellow Jackets to the Cedarville Open championship.

Wiseman, who won the NAIA 3K race walk title earlier this month, posted a runner-up time of 24:07.84 in the 5K. Campbell was right behind in 24:12.57.

Hoffman won the 110 meter hurdles in 15.02 seconds as well as the 400 meter hurdles in 55.36. He teamed up with Michael Beight, Kevin Kuhn, and Kurt Groman to win the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:27.76.

Other winners included Sammy Starr in the 400 (50.38), Evan Thayer in the 800 (1:56.24), and Ben Michaud in the shot put (48-6.75). Beight, Marcus Benjamin, Travis Smith, and Mark Williams won the 4 x 100 relay in 43.82 seconds.

Cedarville claimed the team title with 283 points. Wittenberg was next in the six-team field with 223 points. [COMPLETE RESULTS]
