ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Bethany Davies won two individual events and was part of two winning relay teams while being named the Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet at the American Mideast Conference Championship. The Lady Jackets placed second out of eight schools despite winning 13 events in all.
Davies won the 400 meter dash in 57.69 seconds as well as the 400 meter hurdles in 1:04.58. She joined Carolyn Cann, Lydia Wong, and Rachel Wong to claim the 4 x 800 meter relay crown in a school and meet record time of 9:11.46. Davies was also a member of the 4 x 400 relay squad with Katie Lanphier, Lydia Wong, and Alexa Winik that was clocked in 3:58.54.
Winik won the 200 meter dash in a school-record mark of 24.92 seconds. She also won the 100 meter dash in 12.09 seconds which met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark.
Cedarville had two other double winners in individual events. Lydia Wong was victorious in the 800 (2:18.11) and 1,500 meters (4:39.33) while Nicole Santos was a winner in the 5,000 (17:34.58) and 10,000 meters (38:33.34).
Elisabeth Pyles won the 3,000 meter steeplechase for the third straight year in 11:18.55. Other winners were Courtnie Merritt in the high jump (5-1.75) and Tara Leaman in the hammer (150-10). Leaman was the runner-up in the javelin at 127-11 while Cann tied for 2nd in the high jump at 4-11.75.
Malone won the team championship with 246 points and the Lady Jackets were second with 202.33. Notre Dame was a distant third totaling 93 points. [COMPLETE RESULTS]
