The male SUBWAY Athlete of the Week (Sept. 19-25) is soccer goalkeeper Kevin Bender. The senior from Lebanon, Pennsylvania helped the Yellow Jackets to a pair of wins last week. Cedarville defeated Cornerstone 3-2 on Tuesday, Sept. 21 as Bender tallied six saves. On Saturday, Sept. 25 CU opened American Mideast Conference play with a 3-0 win over visiting Malone. It was Bender's 16th career shutout - just one shy of tying the school record. The Jackets are 7-2 and winners of five straight.
