PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - Christopher Walker led a balanced attack with 15 points and five assists as NAIA Division II No. 7 Cedarville used a tight defense to knock off No. 5 Ozarks, 67-50, at the Shawnee State Classic.
The Yellow Jackets, 3-0 overall, held the lead for nearly the entire contest. After enjoying a 38-25 halftime margin, the Bobcats clawed back to within 41-36 early in the second period. Cedarville held off the comeback and regained the momentum with a 17-3 run. The Jackets pushed the bulge to as much as 22 points late in the contest.
Daniel Rose came off the bench to supply 14 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Matt Harner was good for 14 points while Ricardo Alliman posted his third straight double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Ozarks, 3-2, suffered through 30.5 percent shooting while Cedarville hit at a 43.6 percent accuracy. The Yellow Jackets controlled the boards, 45-39. [STATS]
