CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Alison Lemon fired in 27 points and Aubrey Siemon added a double-double to guide the Lady Jackets to an 85-71 victory over Point Park in the 2008-09 season opener played in the Callan Athletic Center.

Lemon nailed one of her five three-pointers just seconds into the contest and Cedarville never trailed. The hosts jumped out to a 21-6 advantage and it was 38-23 at the break. The Jackets twice built the margin to 22 points in the second half, but the Pioneers closed to within eight with 4:15 left. CU made 8-of-10 free throws down the stretch to seal it.

Lemon's effort included three assists and three steals. Siemon scored 12 points and hauled down a game-high 15 rebounds. Rachel Hurley tallied 13 points and six assists while Jenna Smith made her collegiate debut with 12 points and nine boards. [STATS]
