CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Alison Lemon scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and head coach Kirk Martin won his 200th game at Cedarville University with a 63-56 decision over NAIA Division II No. 16 Taylor in the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets, 3-0 overall, broke open a tie contest with a 23-9 run early in the second half with Lemon scoring 11 of the points. Cedarville's largest lead was 55-41 with 8:05 left. The Trojans, 4-2, got as close as 57-51 at the 4:55 mark.
Lemon handed out seven assists and came away with four steals on the night. Rachel Hurley pumped in 14 points and Jenna Smith pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked three shots.
Martin has a 200-43 record in eight years at his alma mater for an .823 winning percentage. [STATS]
