NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Grant Walker fired in 23 points and Daniel Rose came off the bench with 20 to guide NAIA Division II No. 9 Cedarville to an impressive 75-63 non-conference win at Trevecca Nazarene. The Yellow Jackets have won three straight to up their record to 11-1 overall.
CU was playing for the first time in 10 days and watched as the NAIA Division I Trojans made nine of their first 11 shots for a 21-15 lead. An 11-point spurt got the Yellow Jackets back in it and they held a slim 35-34 lead at the break.
Walker, who also finished with six assists, scored 16 of his points in the second half and was the catalyst for a 62-45 lead with 8:20 to go. Trevecca Nazarene, 6-7, closed the margin to six, but Cedarville was able to hold off the hosts by hitting 14-of-16 free throws in the final period with Walker going a perfect 8-for-8.
Rose pulled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots. Ricardo Alliman grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Jackets, who controlled the boards, 36-31. [STATS]
