CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Matt Harner paced NAIA Division II No. 4 Cedarville's long-range attack with six three-pointers and 20 points in a 79-58 win versus Greene County rival Wilberforce in the Callan Athletic Center.
The Yellow Jackets, 9-1 overall, knocked down 13-of-23 treys in the game for 56.5 percent. However, it was 17 unanswered points to end the first half and begin the second that was the turning point.
CU put the first seven points on the board en route to a 25-13 lead. The Bulldogs, 3-6, closed to within 25-22 at the 3:40 mark before the Yellow Jackets finished the period with the final nine points. Once the hosts opened the final frame with eight straight markers it was 42-22. The bulge swelled to as much as 70-35 with 6:15 to go.
Harner was 6-for-8 outside the arc while Grant Walker went 4-for-5 for 12 points. Ricardo Alliman produced yet another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds while Christopher Walker also pulled down 12 boards. [STATS]
