MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Alison Lemon fired in 23 points and sparked a 15-0 run to start the game to lead Cedarville to a 77-62 American Mideast Conference victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Lemon rained in a trio of three-pointers as the Lady Jackets stunned the Cougars with the game's first 15 points. MVNU never got on the board until 13:30 left. CU buried 9-of-17 shots from beyond the arc en route to a 43-24 bulge at the break.
After the Jackets enjoyed their largest advantage at 49-24 early in the second period, the Cougars inched back to as close as 12 points twice. The last occasion was 63-51 at the 5:45 mark.
Lemon added eight rebounds and five assists for Cedarville, 11-5 overall and 2-2 AMC. Rachel Hurley tallied 14 points and five assists with Aubrey Siemon chipping in 12 points and a team-high nine boards. MVNU dips to 14-4 and 2-3 AMC. [STATS]
