Lemon hits milestone as CU bombs Pioneers

CANTON, Ohio - Alison Lemon scored 22 points and became the 17th Lady Jacket to reach 1,000 career points as Cedarville used its long range arsenal to defeat Malone, 84-68, in an American Mideast Conference contest. CU placed four players in double figures and knocked down a school-record 16 three-point baskets.

The Jackets, who upped their record to 12-5 overall and 3-2 AMC, buried seven treys in the first half for a 43-32 lead at the break. They hit nine more in the second half and needed every one of them to hold off the Pioneers' comeback bid.

Lemon was 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Freshmen guard Kara Cayton hit 4-of-5 threes for 12 points, Hurley added 11, and Lydia Miller netted 10 points with a game-high seven assists.
