CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican scored the final five points of the contest to complete a 62-57 upset of NAIA Division II No. 13 Cedarville in American Mideast Conference action.
The Lady Jackets recovered from an eight-point deficit after blowing an eight-point advantage of their own to tie the game, 57-57, when Rachel Hurley drilled her fourth trey of the night with 1:33 left. The Panthers, 8-7 overall and 2-0 AMC, nailed a three-pointer with 1:16 remaining and added two free throws with six seconds on the clock.
Cedarville expanded a three-point halftime lead to 44-36 with 12:10 to play. Then, the offense disappeared. The Jackets made just one field goal in the next eight minutes while ODU reeled off a 19-3 run to lead 55-47. A free throw by Aubrey Siemon followed by consecutive triples by Alison Lemon, Lydia Miller, and Hurley knotted the score before the visitors wrapped it up.
Lemon and Hurley netted 14 points each for Cedarville, who drops to 10-4 and 1-1 AMC. Miller finished with 12 points. [STATS]
