PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Yellow Jackets remained unbeaten in the American Mideast Conference with a convincing 4-0 decision at Point Park.
Despite scoring early, it took awhile for Cedarville to break it open. Matt Niemiec recorded his team-high eighth goal of the season in the 11th minute as James Twinem dished out his team-best sixth assist.
The difference remained 1-0 until the Jackets chalked up three goals in a span of 20 minutes in the second half. Joseph Mueller scored unassisted in the 62nd minute before tallying again 10 minutes later from Ryan Chaney. Twinem wrapped up the scoring in the 82nd minute from Niemiec.
Cedarville, 8-3-3 overall and 3-0-2 AMC, outshot the Pioneers 31-3 overall and 15-3 in shots on goal. Kevin Bender was good for three saves in goal and registered his fifth shutout of the campaign. [STATS]
