CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Marian scored the game's only goal deep into the second half and held on to beat the Lady Jackets, 1-0, in the Cedarville Classic.
The Knights, 1-0-1 overall, took advantage of a loose ball following a corner kick in the 71st minute. The winning 15-yard shot went high just inside the far post.
Cedarville, 1-1, was held without a shot the entire first half. Marian ended up with a 12-5 margin in shots overall and a 5-4 edge on goal.
Freshman keeper Alysia Bennett was credited with four saves.
