CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Tournament MVP Emily Shade pounded 36 kills in two matches, but a split by the Lady Jackets knocked them down to a tie for second place in the Cedarville Invitational.
Cedarville needed five sets to outlast Saint Francis 24-26, 25-20, 25-17, 20-25, 15-11. Shade had 14 kills and two blocks. Kylee Husak and Sarah Hartman added 12 kills each.
Erica Bartholomew came up with 44 assists. Heather Kirkpatrick paced the back row with 19 digs and Katherine MacKenzie had 11. [STATS]
Indiana-Southeast defeated the Lady Jackets 25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 15-25, 15-11 in the final match of the event. Shade ripped 22 kills while Husak buried 20 kills and turned aside nine blocks for CU, 5-9 overall.
Bartholomew totaled 57 assists and three blocks. Kirkpatrick had 18 digs and MacKenzie was a perfect 29-for-29 in serve receive. [STATS]
