PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - Four different Cedarville players scored goals and the Lady Jacket defense blanked the opposition for the third consecutive time with a 4-0 American Mideast Conference victory at Shawnee State.
The visitors got all they needed when Rachel Brown hit the net unassisted in the 16th minute. CU outshot the Bears 11-1 in the first half, but only had the one goal by intermission.
The Lady Jackets, 4-3 overall and 2-0 AMC, broke it open in the second period. Erin Landers scored in the 54th minute with Kelsey Watkins assisting. Becky Burton tallied unassisted in the 66th minute while Dresden Matson finished the scoring from Rachel Brownfield in the 87th minute.
Cedarville ended the contest with a 26-6 bulge in shots overall and a 13-1 margin in shots on goal. Freshman keeper Alysia Bennett had one save and was credited with her fourth shutout of the campaign. [STATS]
