Yellow Jackets 4-0 winners in NCCAA first round

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - James Twinem scored twice and Kevin Bender recorded the shutout to lead the #5 seed Yellow Jackets to a convincing 4-0 result over #4 Campbellsville in the first round of the NCCAA National Tournament.

Cedarville advances to play #1 seed Covenant in the semifinals on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The Jackets, 12-8 overall, broke the scoring ice in the 23rd minute. Timmy Waller, the star of the Midwest Region title match by virtue of his game-winning tally, netted his sixth goal of the campaign unassisted. It was 1-0 at the intermission.

James Twinem made it a two-goal difference when he converted a penalty kick in the 57th minute. The junior midfielder added his ninth goal of the year in the 71st minute with Steve Ellis assisting.

Stephen Schindler completed the scoring in the 86th minute with Cedarville's second PK. It was his second goal of the season with both coming from the spot.

Bender was credited with six saves in the match while registering his fifth shutout. The outcome also improved his school-record career shutout total to 20.

Campbellsville falls to 17-6.
