CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville nipped American Mideast Conference leader Northwestern Ohio, 5-4, at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex to grab a piece of the league championship.
The Lady Jackets, 14-4 overall, complete the AMC regular season with a 6-1 record to tie Walsh. UNOH is 4-1 with two contests to play and all three teams could share the league crown. Tiebreakers are used to seed the upcoming AMC Tournament.
Cedarville squeezed a 2-1 lead out of doubles. The #2 tandem of Georgiann McClure and Carissa Parmerlee had the easier match, 8-2. Rachel Arthur and Melissa Stoltzfus pulled out a 9-8 decision at #3 doubles.
McClure had to rally at #3 singles for a 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 win. The other points came from #5 Stoltzfus, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, and #6 Arthur, 6-1, 6-1. [RESULTS]
