CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Dominican dropped the first set before sweeping the next three to hand the Lady Jackets their first loss of the young season in a non-conference match played in the Callan Athletic Center.
The Panthers, playing in their season opener, won by scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 30-28.
Cedarville, 1-1 overall, built a seven-point lead in the first set in taking the early lead. ODU put together a 6-0 run of its own to take command of the second set.
Set #3 featured 12 ties with the Jackets taking their final advantage at 17-16. The Panthers closed it with a 9-4 spurt for a 2-1 lead.
The Lady Jackets had to rally in the fourth set and served for the win at 28-27. Ohio Dominican recovered for the final three points to close out the match.
Freshman Stephanie Rogers hammered 20 kills with four blocks to lead the attack. Kassi Ernsberger added 11 kills, Kylee Husak chipped in eight, and Sarah Hartman totaled six blocks.
Erica Bartholomew finished with 39 assists. Heather Kirkpatrick came up with 23 digs and Kara Yutzy had 12.
