CANTON, Ohio - Justin Santoro and James Twinem scored goals in the opening half for the second straight contest to spark the Yellow Jackets to a 2-1 win at Malone for their fourth consecutive victory.
Just as they did a week ago in a 2-0 result at Saint Joseph's (Ind.), the duo tallied back-to-back. Santoro netted his second score of the year in the 5th minute with Jeremy Hoppe assisting. Twinem added his sixth goal unassisted in the 16th minute.
The two teams had to deal with a 40-minute lightning delay with 9:33 remaining in the first half. Once play resumed, Cedarville ended the frame with a 9-2 bulge in shots.
The host Pioneers closed the gap in the second half and finally got on the board in the 76th minute.
The Yellow Jackets, 9-5 overall, ended the game with margins of 15-10 in shots overall and 5-3 in shots on goal. Curtis Ranck was credited with two saves.
Malone's record drops to 8-7.
