CANTON, Ohio - Amanda Bunton scored early in the second overtime to help the Lady Jackets halt a three-match losing streak with a 2-1 win at Malone.
Bunton, who failed to convert a penalty kick late in the first half, redeemed herself just 16 seconds into the second OT. She gathered the ball at the top of the box and fired her fourth goal of the season just inside the far post.
The "golden goal" gave Cedarville, 5-6-2 overall, its first victory in four overtime games this fall after going 0-2-1 in the previous three.
Emily Niedermayer netted her first career goal to get the Jackets on the board first in the 12th minute. She was assisted by Arianna Pepper. Malone equalized in the 37th minute with a PK.
Cedarville outshot the Pioneers 14-9 overall and 6-4 in shots on goal. Keri Sachtleben went the distance between the pipes and made three saves.
