CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
James Twinem scored two goals to lead the Yellow Jackets to their sixth win in a row as they cooled off Ohio Christian, 3-0.
The Trailblazers came to town ranked #2 in NCCAA Division II with an eight-game winning streak. Equally as impressive was the fact they had allowed just one goal during that timespan.
However, Cedarville, who at one time was rated #1 in NCCAA Division I, was in control from the opening whistle. The hosts outshot OCU 30-2 for the match and 19-1 in shots on goal.
It took a while for the Jackets to penetrate the Trailblazer defense, but Twinem finally deposited his seventh goal of the season from 10 yards out off a feed from
Timmy Waller in the 28th minute.
Dillon King finished off a scramble in the box in the 35th minute for his third score of the campaign. Twinem tallied again just 23 seconds later with an assist from
Ryan Thurman.
Curtis Ranck needed to make just one save en route to his third shutout for Cedarville, 11-5 overall. Ohio Christian falls to 14-3-1.
