NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Evan Thayer finished 5th to pace Cedarville to a second-place showing in the Ohio Independent Championship.

Thayer's time for the 8,000 meters was 26:30. Jacob Dubie was 8th in 26:43 and Joseph Cathey was 10th in 26:48.

Malone easily won the five-team meet with 16 points. The Yellow Jackets totaled 46 and was followed by Walsh, 79; Notre Dame, 119; and Urbana, 150.

CU also locked down places 11 through 14. The quartet was comprised of Joe Niemiec (26:49), Jacob Walter (26:50), Josiah Bragg (26:56), and Ryan Gustafson (27:03), respectively.

The Ohio Independent Championship includes schools who are either already full NCAA Division II members (Urbana) or are currently in the membership process.
