SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The Lady Jackets had to go on the road to register the 1,000th victory in the volleyball program's history with a three-set sweep at Notre Dame College.
Cedarville won its third straight match with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-11 decision over the Falcons. It was also the 10th victory in the last 12 outings for the Lady Jackets, who improved to 13-8.
It took 49 years for Cedarville volleyball to reach the historic plateau. June Kearney's inaugural 1963 squad went 1-4 and she eventually piled up 191 wins in 19 seasons.
Ironically, 809 victories to date have been accomplished in the last 30 years. All six head coaches in the program's history have winning career records.
On this night, Amanda Bell hammered 11 kills to go along with four blocks. Lauren Williams came through with eight kills while Stephanie Rogers had six kills and four blocks.
Maddie Anderson handed out 18 assists, Erica Bartholomew had 14, and Heather Kirkpatrick came up with 13 digs. Aubrey Siemon was credited with five blocks.
The Lady Jackets posted a .355 attack percentage as a team. They also had one solo block and 18 block assists.
