James Twinem and
Daniel Rigby scored first half goals and
Curtis Ranck notched his first career shutout to lead the Yellow Jackets to an impressive 2-0 victory at Tiffin.
Cedarville got all it needed when Twinem deposited his team-high fourth goal of the season in the 23rd minute. He finished off a breakaway with an assist from
Eric Newman.
Rigby netted an all-important insurance goal in the 43rd minute on an assist from
Ryan Thurman. It was Rigby's first collegiate tally and Thurman's club-high sixth assist.
The 2-0 difference stayed on the board for the remainder of the match as Ranck made four saves in 90 minutes of action. The Yellow Jackets improved to 7-5 overall while the host Dragons fall to 6-4-1 with the Homecoming setback.
Cedarville outshot TU 17-9 overall and 9-4 in shots on goal.
It was the first meeting between the two schools since 2006 and Tiffin still leads the all-time series 19-8-1. However, the Yellow Jackets have three consecutive victories in the rivalry and it was their second straight on the Dragons' home turf.
