NORTH CANTON, Ohio - No. 1 seed Cedarville defeated Notre Dame (Ohio) in the semifinals of the Ohio Independent Championship, but lost to host Walsh in the final.
The Lady Jackets, who were without the services of top player
Stephanie Rogers because of injury, dropped the first set to NDC before winning 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 26-24.
Hannah Wagner stepped up with 15 kills and six blocks.
Amanda Bell pounded 11 kills with 18 digs while
Emilie Morrison added 10 kills.
Maddie Anderson handed out 22 assists.
Erica Bartholomew totaled 16 assists and four service aces with
Heather Kirkpatrick supplying 10 digs.
Walsh overpowered the Jackets to win the final 25-15, 25-12, 26-24. Wagner put away eight kills to lead the attack.
Bell had seven kills and nine digs. Anderson contributed 13 assists and three aces for Cedarville, 21-16 overall.
