UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State shot 65 percent during a decisive first half and used the momentum to defeat the Yellow Jackets, 88-76.

The host Cardinals never trailed after scoring the first seven points of the contest. Their torrid shooting produced an 18-6 lead before the game was seven minutes old.

SVSU enjoyed a 23-point spread at one time. The halftime score was 51-29.

Cedarville outscored the Cardinals 47-37 over the final 20 minutes, but ran out of time. The closest the Jackets could get down the stretch was within 11 in the final minute.

Austin Foote scored 21 points and dished out four assists for the Yellow Jackets, 3-2 overall. Zimmy Nwogbo finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Saginaw Valley State improved to 2-3.
