Zimmy Nwogbo's lay-in with 2.4 seconds remaining in overtime lifted the Yellow Jackets to a startling 91-89 win at Malone and bring to a close a tiring 11-game road swing.
Cedarville had the final possession in the extra period.
Zach Brown penetrated the Pioneer defense from the left wing and found Nwogbo alone on the right low block where he muscled in the game winner. Malone fired a desperation 35-footer off the rim at the buzzer.
Marcus Reineke pumped in a career-high 25 points, all in the second half, to rally the Yellow Jackets. CU trailed 65-52 with 7:45 left when the freshman guard netted 17 of his team's final 24 points.
Reineke converted two free throws with 32 seconds left to knot the score at 76-76. Malone missed a baseline 15-footer at the end of regulation.
Reineke made 6-of-9 shots from the field including 4-of-6 treys. He hit 9-of-10 charity tosses and twice converted all three free throws after getting fouled outside the arc.
Nwogbo totaled 21 points to go along with a game-high nine rebounds.
Brian Grant labored through foul trouble to finish with 15 points and
Bryan Redic chipped in 10.
Cedarville, 8-6 overall, was without the services of leading scorer
Austin Foote, who sat out with an injury. The Jackets will play nine of their final 12 contests in the Callan Athletic Center. Malone is 7-8.
