Jackets grab tough win at Urbana

URBANA, Ohio - Zach Brown scored 16 of his game-high 18 points in the second half when Cedarville pulled away for a 67-55 result at Urbana for its seventh victory in a row.

The Yellow Jackets, 17-7 overall, never trailed from the outset and broke out to a 14-3 margin seven minutes in. However, they labored the rest of the half and held a scant 29-25 lead at the break.

Cedarville quickly pushed the difference to 15 points on two occasions early in the second half. The last time made it 48-33 with 11:05 to play.

The Blue Knights, 6-17, scored the next seven points, but Brown answered with a three-point play to make it 51-40 at the 8:05 mark and the Jackets enjoyed a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.

Austin Foote finished with 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Zimmy Nwogbo tallied 11 points with nine coming in the second period.

Cedarville made 52 percent of its shots in the final 20 minutes and hit 46 percent for the contest. The Yellow Jackets converted 17-of-22 free throws in winning for the 10th time in the last 11 outings.
