CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Daniel Hickman tossed in a career-high 20 points and the Yellow Jackets ramped up their play in the second half to defeat Wilberforce, 79-59, in the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville allowed an 11-point lead in the first half to completely evaporate late in the period. Two free throws by
Daniel Kohavi with four seconds left gave the home team a 42-40 advantage at the buzzer.
The Jackets outscored Wilberforce 12-4 to open the second half, but the Bulldogs sneaked to within 58-51 with 12:05 to go. Cedarville netted the next six points and closed out the contest with a 21-8 spurt to win going away.
Hickman came off the bench with his career night. His performance included four three-pointers and a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the charity stripe.
Zimmy Nwogbo assembled a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Austin Foote chipped in 14 points as all 11 CU players in uniform scored.
The Jackets outscored Wilberforce, 37-19, in the decisive second half. They helped their cause by shooting 52 percent from the field and converting all 10 of their free throws.
The Bulldogs dip to 10-17.
