Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Freshman
Chris Anderson drilled a 10-yard strike in the 88th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 non-conference victory at Oakland City.
Timmy Waller chased down a through ball inside the left portion of the box and poked it back to Zach Harris. He found Anderson wide open in front of the net, who in turn ripped a high shot for his second goal of the season.
"We did a good job to get a win on the road against a tough Oakland City team," remarked Interim Head Coach
Brett Faro, whose squad improved to 10-2-3. "We've talked the last few days about being stingy on defense and getting shutouts and we were able to do that today.
"Our goal came from a number of guys making quality decisions at the right time and it resulted in a good goal. We are looking forward to being back home this week and expect to finish conference play strong."
Sophomore goalkeeper
Ethan Dewhurst, who made three saves, tied the single-season school record with his eighth shutout. It matches the mark previously set by Matt Reid (2001) and equalled by Luke Marietta (2005).
Oakland City falls to 8-5-1. CU hosts Trevecca Nazarene in a G-MAC contest on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
