Box Score ERIE, Pa. - Cedarville scored first, but Gannon bounced back with two scores to down the Yellow Jackets, 2-1, in a non-conference contest to close out the regular season.
CU, 12-3-3 overall, now awaits official word on a semifinal opponent and game location in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship which begins on Nov. 7. Pairings will be announced on Saturday.
At Gannon, the Yellow Jackets broke a scoreless battle in the 49th minute. Zach Harris finished a low shot from 10 yards for his second goal of the campaign following a pass from
Zack Gatlin.
Unfortunately, it took the Golden Knights less than 90 seconds to equalize. They went on to net the winner in the 66th minute.
"It was a good game and a battle," said Interim Head Coach
Brett Faro. "However, they took advantage of a couple of opportunities that they were presented and scored goals on both of them."
The stat sheet favored Cedarville. The Jackets had the advantage in shots overall (15-7), shots on goal (8-4), and in corner kicks (9-3). CU only committed one foul compared to nine for Gannon, who improved to 7-10.
