Screaming Eagles silence Cedarville

Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Southern Indiana held on to claim the first two sets and then put away the Lady Jackets in the third for a non-conference victory in the Callan Athletic Center.

The Screaming Eagles swept the match, 25-23, 26-24, 25-20.

"We played a hard fought match tonight against a very good Southern Indiana team that played extremely well," remarked CU Head Coach Doug Walters. "We struggled with consistency and mental focus, though, at some crucial times which cost us. These are areas that we have not had difficulties with since the first three weeks of the season so that is a little disappointing.

"I felt that we had great chances in all three sets, but we just kept coming up a bit short. We need to take what we learned from tonight and put it into the remainder of our conference schedule as we push for another G-MAC title!"

Abby Shelton and Hannah Wagner pounded 10 kills apiece for Cedarville, 15-13. Amanda Bell added eight, Stephanie Rogers had seven, and Tori Thompson turned aside four blocks.

Maddie Anderson doled out 26 assists and Angela Becker finished with 12 digs.

Southern Indiana improved its record to 18-6.
