Gilmour goals lead Yellow Jacket romp

Box Score VIENNA, W.Va. - Connor Gilmour scored four times and Todd McKinley assisted on three others during an 8-0 whitewash at Ohio Valley in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest.

Christian Alexander found the net in the 7th minute, Gilmour tallied 53 seconds later, and the scoring jamboree was on. Both goals were unassisted.

Jeremy Hoppe set up Gilmour in the 12th minute before McKinley assisted on the next two. Chris Anderson scored his first career goal in the 34th and Joel Twinem followed in the 39th for a 5-0 bulge by halftime.

It was Gilmour again in the 53rd minute from Zach Harris. The sophomore midfielder got his fourth from Zack Gatlin in the 58th.

Stephen Morris wrapped it up in the 78th on McKinley's third assist. Ethan Dewhurst played the first 12 minutes in goal and Paulo Diniz went the rest of the way with one save.

Shots were 30-4 overall in favor of Cedarville, 6-1-2 overall and 3-0 G-MAC. The on goal differential was 17-1.

Gilmour's four goals were two shy of the school record. Dave DeLancey vs. Ohio Northern (11/3/73) and Evandro Batista vs. Malone (10/4/75) share the CU record of six goals in a single match.

The Yellow Jackets completed their six-game road swing with a 4-1-1 mark. They host Shippensburg in the annual Homecoming match on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
