Rigby's late tally a @CUSoccer winner

Box Score RENSSELAER, Ind. - Daniel Rigby picked a fine time to score his first goal of the season. His 87th minute marker lifted the Yellow Jackets to a 1-0 non-conference victory at Saint Joseph's.

For all intents and purposes, the defensive-minded Pumas basically packed it in and withstood Cedarville's attack. It all broke down when Rigby nailed the winner off of a deflection in the box.

"I thought we played well," remarked Interim Head Coach Brett Faro. "Saint Joseph's defended with a lot of guys back and were hard to break down.

"I thought our guys did a good job to stay disciplined and continue to press throughout the game."

The Yellow Jackets, 8-1-2 overall, outshot SJC 24-3 overall and 9-0 on goal. Ethan Dewhurst nabbed his sixth shutout without having to make a save.

Now Cedarville hosts back-to-back Great Midwest Athletic Conference matches against Alderson Broaddus on Thursday and Davis & Elkins on Saturday. Both start at 7:00 p.m.

"We've got two big conference games against two quality programs so we are looking forward to those," said Faro. "We know we'll have to be sharp for the rest of the week."
